President & CEO, WoodWorks – Wood Products Council
Jennifer Cover is the President and CEO of WoodWorks – Wood Products Council, a nonprofit program providing education and no-cost project design support to the design and construction community seeking to create a more sustainable built environment. WoodWorks team members have expertise in a wide range of building types—from commercial projects such as office, retail, hotel and mixed-use multifamily to public projects and community centers as well as tall wood buildings. The objective of the program is to make it easier to design, engineer and construct wood buildings utilizing materials such as mass timber that deliver high performance for similar cost to more traditional fossil fuel intensive alternatives. WoodWorks is a partner with the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Softwood Lumber Board and British Columbia’s Forestry Innovation Investment Program to promote and educate on innovative wood solutions that will increase the use of sustainable wood products, thereby creating a built environment that sequesters carbon while also improving the health of U.S. forestlands. Ms. Cover has been with the WoodWorks program since it was established twelve years ago and took on the role of leading the program six years ago. She is a California licensed professional engineer and her experience includes business development, market analysis, project management and structural design, as well as university education, all with an emphasis on wood design and construction.
