Duncan Cox
Senior Associate, Thornton Tomasetti

Duncan joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2011 and has more than 18 years of experience on a variety of high-profile projects. Working closely with the design team through all stages of a project, Duncan specializes in incorporating sustainability aspects into structural and façade designs. He is a certified BREEAM Assessor, is LEED certifed and uses advanced parametric design tools to balance energy, daylight, comfort, and material carbon into his projects. Duncan has emerged as a leading voice on Embodied Carbon and Life Cycle Assessment and has been involved in numerous collaboration streams with academia. He helped to develop Beacon, the firm’s open-source carbon counting tool, education material used internally and industry-wide, and is often invited to contribute to guidance and planning regulations regarding delivering low carbon futures.
