Clean Construction Programme Manager, C40 Cities
Cécile Faraud leads the Clean Construction Programme at C40, the network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. Her team supports cities in driving zero carbon construction, with a focus on reducing emissions from construction materials and machinery. Cécile supports market dialogues and collaborates with key global and national stakeholders representing the private sector. She advocates for a whole life and circular approach to our built environment. Prior to C40, Cécile managed at CDP the development of the London City-Business Leaders initiative, aimed at aligning the climate ambitions and actions of the capital and its businesses. The partnership, led by the Greater London Authority, comprises 11 global companies operating in London such as Tesco, Sky, Siemens and Landsec. She had previously shaped and led the Circular Economy programme for the city of Peterborough (UK), authored blogs on the Circular Economy, and led on French and South-East Asian collaboration for sustainable development and cross-cutting regional issues when based at the French Embassy in Bangkok.
She holds a MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London (UCL) and Master’s degrees in International Relations and Geography from IRIS Sup’ (France) and the Sorbonne respectively.
