Dr. Anna Braune
Head of Research and Development, DGNB
Anna was born in Munich, Germany in 1974. She studied Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and wrote her thesis on “Life Cycle Assessment of Waste Water Treatment Plants” in collaboration with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). She worked for different consulting companies in the field of sustainability and building service engineering. From 2004 to 2007 she held a position as research assistant at the University of Stuttgart, Chair of Building Physics, Department Life Cycle Engineering. She coordinated several public funded projects and initiated sustainable building related networks.
Anna is initiator and founding member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), where she served as CEO from DGNB’s foundation in June 2007 to end 2008. She is auditor for the DGNB scheme. Until June 2015 she worked at PE INTERNATIONAL, renamed as thinkstep AG in 2015. As Principal Consultant she was responsible for the construction team of the company’s consulting services branch.
Since September 2015 Anna is working for DGNB, responsible for the organization’s unit “Research and Development”.
